Take a JPEG picture, load it into VJC, select a compression level, and save the compressed image to the location of your choosing. That is, in a nutshell, the functionality you can expect to get from VJC, a JPEG compression utility offered by GFsoft for free. The nice thing about VJC is that it presents the original image and a preview of the compressed image on its interface.

VJC is available as an installer and as a portable version. You don’t need to worry about the system requirements. If your PC can run Windows properly, it will have no problems running VJC.

The main part of the application’s interface presents the image you loaded into the application and a preview of the compressed image. The original image is presented in the panel to the left while the preview of the compressed image is presented in the panel to the right. Underneath these two panels there’s a section that allows you to pick the compression level and save the compressed image.

Using VJC is a very simple three-step process.
First up, you have to load an image into the application. You can do so by using the Open button; it’s down in the lower left hand corner. Or better yet, you can just drag and drop a JPEG image onto the interface.
Next up, you have to pick a compression level. You have two options here: by quality (use a slider or enter a numeric value) or by max size (enter a numeric value).
And last but not least, you must save the compressed image. You can save it to any location you want.

VJC is free for personal and commercial use. You can enjoy the functionality presented above for free, for as long as you want.

Easily compress JPEG images with the user friendly, free, and portable application VJC.

Pros

VJC is available as an installer and as a portable version. There is nothing complicated about the application’s interface. The original image and a preview for the compressed image are presented on the interface. Compress JPEG images by quality or by max size. VJC is free software.

Cons

None that I could think of.
